Rescue of prisoners / Mushroom Adventures :)

After the destruction of GlassStaff on the previous session the group head towards the body to search the remains.
In the mean time Desmond who volunteered to help the Smiths Wife (Daria) It was a dramatic struggle but he managed to convince the woman that he would find out what has happened. It's only been a day since the kidnapping of the smith. Daria informs Desmond that there are two packages for some of his friends in the smithy that he could get. Desmond does and stows them in his pack as he goes back to the inn. Daria takes the opportunity to try to make a break for the mansion ruins but just in time Desmond returns to stop her. Desmond convinces Daria to stay in the inn and back to the room. Desmond then uses his herbilisam kit to spike her milk as she falls gently to sleep. At around 11pm the smiths wife falls asleep and Desmond head out of the inn looking for the group. It takes some time and he sees a small boy skulking about, at this very late time of night and Desmond moral outlook he approaches the boy and asks him what he's doing out so late, the boy says he's running away from home. After a discussion with the boy and finds out it's because the boy refuses to eat his cabbage he convinces the boy to go back home. And as the boy scampers home on an off chance he asks if the boy had seen the party. He says a group of strangers headed towards the ruins of the mansion. Desmond waves to the boy and makes his way towards the ruins. Using his druidic skills he finds the trail of the party even before he gets to the ruins. He follows the trail and finds himself in a lit basement of the ruins of the mansion. After looking around for a short while he hears a noise from the path heading west. He runs to discover a giant porcupine... And on closer inspection he finds it is a man... With hundreds of thorns sticking out of his back. He finds the rest of the party.
Reunited with Desmond the party and searching the corpse of GlassStaff the party decide to head back to the study of Glass Staff, After a quick search the party discover some papers that are in code that were requested by the head of the Miners Exchange. Some gems and coin, as well as a few scrolls of magic. After a brief discussion the party decides to have a long rest. Astrid and Victor attempt to move the table towards one of the entrances (Astrid just drags the table without much help from Victor ;) Leaving Desmond on guard the party as they start their long rest (8 Hour).

They sleep for an hour until Desmond hears a noise coming from the stairs he peeks out and sees a pair of creatures. The creatures rush the door and smash through as the party are rudely awoken by a pair of ghouls. Desmond is attacked and is slashed across his chest; He then turns to stone as he is paralyzed. After an epic fight against the Ghouls the party now battered and bruised they decide to take a short rest. They discover information about their equipments and trinkets they decide to use the abilities of their trinkets to scout out the area. Azrial looks through the walls and sees the slave pens, the smithy, some guards, A armory and a skeleton. Pfenix uses his egg to scout out the southern path and sees a bugbear. While scouting Astrid uses her bottom to discover GlassStaffs journal and discovers that GlassStaff is Iarno Albrek. And Iarno is the missing member of the Lords Alliance that Sildar is looking for.
The party decides to rescue the smithy first; they head towards the armory and then confront the skeleton. With some nifty investigation they found that the name of the city that was here before humans and with a history check from Kal he finds that the ancient elvish name for the area was once Illefern. Shouting the name puts the three skeletons to slumber again. Putting on some read cloaks Kal, Astrid and Azriel enter the guards room and before they can attack or talk to the guards the guards shout at the team and says, ‘it’s about time, We were meant to be relieved hours ago. You can guard here now.’ And the pair of guards leaves and with the worst luck they are hit by a trap that was checked by Azrial in the previous session. The party release the smith and find the kidnapped woman and children that were taking recently. The party manage to get the captives to the entrance of the hideout and they make their way back to the town.
The party head to towards where the bugbear was sighted. They prepare to enter the room. Victor takes the lead as he kicks the door down and rush towards the bugbear. Desmond takes a savage hit and falls unconscious the rest of the party dismantle the three bugbears. After the fight the party find Droop, a downtrodden Goblin that has been beaten by the Bugbears. He informs the party that that the spider sent him and the bugbears to GlassStaff. And that Cragmau Castle is far to the north. Droop, Already close to death attempts to make his escape as the party try to work out what to do with him, Kal attempts to knock the goblin out but he has already suffered so much damage he falls down dead.
The party then move back to the inn to have some food and a long nights sleep... Well except for Desmond, He had two mushrooms left in his bag, one almost rotten; Desmond had a nice evening meal... When Desmond awoke he found himself naked, in a pig sty, and in front of him was a sign for his arrest, for public nudity... He chooses to pay the 10gp fine to remove the wanted signs from the city... Astrid and Azrial did find a copy of the wanted posters and are keeping them for a special occasion.
Discoveries
Glass Staff = Iarno Albrek the wizard who went missing two months ago and who Sildar is looking for.
The Spider = He seems to be the figure who is behind the capture of the Rockseeker brother.
Cragmaw Castle = This is where the Dwarf was sent after his capture. Where the bugbears and Droop came from and where Glass Staff have been receiving orders.
Homebrew Ruling - The last fight against the bugbears were a little bit of a logistic nightmare, Such a small room and no one really knowing whats happening, Everyone knows that there is something in there but there isn't a lot of room. So I decided to allow everone in the corridor to have advantage instead of a full suprise round. This ment everyone was free to run in, Take a hit. It made things a little quicker really, Well would have if Victor could roll a dice. ;) Just kidding, You all did awesomely. :)
